Warranty & Technical Guarantee

Marketplace Warranty Policy & Quality Standards

Effective Date: October 2026

KateDeal (katedeal.com) operates as an international multi-category e-commerce marketplace connecting verified manufacturers, commercial suppliers, and specialized workshops with global buyers. Because our platform hosts thousands of diverse catalog items—ranging from consumer electronics and industrial machinery to handcrafted home decor, raw materials, workshop tools, and daily consumables—warranty terms, durations, and coverage parameters are established individually on a product-specific basis.

This Warranty Policy outlines how warranty coverage is designated across different product classes, statutory consumer rights, our comprehensive framework of warranty exclusions, and the standardized Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) claim procedure. This policy is structured to ensure fairness, transparency, and protection against unwarranted or fraudulent claims.

Product-Specific Warranty Framework

1. Product Page Declaration: The specific commercial warranty period (e.g., 6 months, 12 months, 24 months, or statutory conformity) is declared directly on each product listing under the Specifications / Warranty section.

2. Items Without Declared Commercial Warranty: Products that do not feature an explicit commercial warranty term—including consumable supplies, cutting blades, wear parts, raw materials, adhesives, chemical compounds, 3D printing filaments, and custom bespoke decor—carry solely an Initial Delivery Inspection (DOA) Guarantee covering manufacturing defects identified immediately upon delivery.

3. Inquiry & Verification: If a product listing does not state a warranty duration, the item is sold without an extended commercial warranty. Buyers desiring pre-purchase confirmation of warranty terms are invited to contact [email protected] prior to placing an order.

1. Statutory Legal Conformity vs. Commercial Warranties

  • European Union Legal Guarantee: For consumer purchasers residing within the European Union, statutory rights under Directive (EU) 2019/771 apply to qualifying consumer hardware, ensuring remedies for non-conformity existing at the time of delivery within statutory limitation periods.
  • Commercial Manufacturer Guarantees: Where an independent vendor or brand offers an extended warranty, KateDeal coordinates administrative claims with the manufacturer or authorized service partner.
  • Commercial & B2B Orders: Purchases made by registered businesses, commercial contractors, or institutional entities are governed exclusively by B2B commercial contract terms, without the application of statutory consumer protections.

2. Universal Warranty Exclusions (What is Not Covered)

To prevent bad-faith claims and protect marketplace sellers from claims caused by operational mishandling, warranty coverage does NOT apply to any of the following circumstances across any product category:

1. Normal Wear and Tear

Routine degradation of components subject to friction, abrasion, or operational exhaustion (cutting edges, blades, drill bits, drive belts, mechanical brushes, seals, surface finishes, scratches, and minor cosmetic blemishes).

2. Consumables & Finite Shelf-Life

Products consumed during standard use (adhesives, resins, oils, sealants, fluids, abrasives, 3D printing filaments, batteries under normal cyclic capacity loss, or personal hygiene goods).

3. Misuse, Neglect & Non-Standard Operation

Operating equipment contrary to official user manuals, exceeding rated electrical/mechanical parameters, dropping, physical crushing, over-tightening of fasteners, or failing to maintain required servicing.

4. Electrical & Installation Errors

Reverse polarity wiring, direct external short circuits, improper AC/DC supply voltages, missing circuit breakers or fuses, lightning strikes lacking rated surge arresters, or amateur soldering/assembly.

5. Environmental & Chemical Neglect

Liquid ingress, internal corrosion, mold, storage in humid or unventilated spaces, exposure to extreme temperatures outside rated limits, or outdoor exposure of indoor-rated goods.

6. Unauthorized Modifications & Tampering

Broken warranty security seals, altered serial numbers, unauthorized structural alterations, non-official firmware/software flashing, or repair attempts performed by non-certified personnel.

7. Commercial Over-Utilization

Employing consumer-grade goods in continuous 24/7 commercial, industrial, or rental operations beyond their designated duty cycle or design specifications.

8. Natural Inherent Material Variance

Organic timber grain movement, minor seasonal expansion/contraction from humidity changes, natural color shade shifts in botanical decor, or minor dimensional variations in handcrafted artisan crafts.

3. Warranty Claim & Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Protocol

To process warranty claims systematically and ensure genuine defects are addressed appropriately, claimants must adhere to the following verification workflow:

  1. Claim Submission: Contact our support desk at [email protected] quoting your Order ID, product model, serial number, and a detailed description of the failure, accompanied by clear photos, video evidence, and operating context.
  2. Initial Administrative Assessment: Claims are reviewed within 2 to 4 business days. Many operational concerns arise from configuration or compatibility issues and may be resolved through technical guidance.
  3. RMA Issuance: Where physical inspection is warranted, an official Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) reference is issued along with shipping instructions to our European logistics inspection center in Uzhhorod, Ukraine. Goods shipped without an authorized RMA reference cannot be accepted.
  4. Inspection & Technical Evaluation: Returned hardware undergoes diagnostic assessment on calibrated test benches within 5 to 10 business days of physical intake to determine the root cause of the reported condition.

4. Warranty Remedies & Resolution Framework

Where a verifiable manufacturing defect is confirmed by technical inspection within the active warranty period, KateDeal and the respective manufacturer will, at their discretion, execute one of the following remedies:

  • Repair: Free repair of the defect using genuine manufacturer components.
  • Replacement: If repair is technically unfeasible or commercially disproportionate, replacement with an identical or functionally equivalent unit of equal or greater value.
  • Partial or Full Refund: If neither repair nor replacement is reasonably achievable within commercial timeframes, a refund corresponding to the purchase price will be issued to the original payment method within 5 to 14 business days.

5. Shipping Costs & Non-Defective Claims

  • Initial Return Transit: The customer is responsible for shipping the item safely to the designated inspection center.
  • Verified Defect: If the inspection confirms an eligible manufacturing defect, reasonable standard domestic shipping costs may be reimbursed, and repaired/replacement items are returned to the buyer at no additional shipping charge.
  • Unverified or Ineligible Claims: If inspection reveals that the item functions within specifications, or failure was caused by user neglect, improper installation, or an excluded condition, the claimant will be invoiced for diagnostic time and return freight before the item is returned.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, KateDeal and its vendor network disclaim all liability for indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages (including loss of business profits, downtime, or damage to third-party equipment). In all instances, aggregate platform liability is strictly capped at the purchase price actually paid by the buyer for the specific product in dispute.
